Heavenly Protempeh slices

Deliciously Smoky Tempeh, Perfect for Various Dishes

This version uses garlic puree, gluten-free soy sauce, smoked paprika, and maple syrup for a flavourful and slightly sweet twist. It's easy to prepare and works well in salads, stir-fries, tempeh bacon or as a sandwich filling.

Serves: 2

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Marinade: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 200g fresh tempeh, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp garlic puree

  • 3 tsp smoked paprika

  • 6 tbsp gluten-free soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 3 tbsp oil (your choice)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the garlic puree, smoked paprika, gluten-free soy sauce, and maple syrup. Mix well to create a smooth sauce.

  2. Marinate the Tempeh: Place the thinly sliced tempeh into the marinade and let it soak for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Fry the Tempeh: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the marinated tempeh slices until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  4. Add the Sauce: Once the tempeh is golden brown, pour any remaining marinade into the pan. Allow the sauce to thicken and coat the tempeh, cooking for about 1 minute.
